Re-fabrication

Collaborative installation with Majella Dowdican

Live@8 on tour, Occupy Space, Limerick. May 2011.

Fabrication is a strong focus for both artists' work, particularly through the exploration of materials and their properties. Grounded in modernist thought, the artists ask questions about authenticity and our perception of the world. With copying and resemblance being the themes that run through the installation, the viewer is invited to come up close and explore the dubious nature of the objects.

Constructed tree

The construction of a tree from sticks and twigs marked the beginning of the installation process. The artists had brought individual pieces and materials but their placement and proximity was an entirely collaborative process that happened over the course of two days spent working in the gallery space.
